This two-hour course is an introduction to the basic structure of matter, the various states of matter and the concept of chemical compounds, the behavior of matter under different conditions.

Upon the completion of this module, you will be able to:

1. Define the basic structure of matter.
2. Describe the fundamental structure of an element and a molecule.
3. Describe the fundamental structure of a compound.
4. List some examples of chemical compounds.
5. Describe the complex molecular makeup of different refrigerants and how it affects the    behavior of the refrigerant.

Description:
This module introduces the concepts of thermodynamic states, properties, and laws, efficiency (coefficient of performance) and defines the maximum coefficient of performance for a heat pump and refrigeration cycles.

  • Identify common thermodynamic properties.
  • Define thermodynamic state.

Description:

Continuing Education Utah

Florida Engineer PDH

Florida Engineers are required to take eight hours of board-approved Professional Development Hours (PDH) continuing education credit every two years by February 28th.

Four hours must be Laws & Rules of Chapter 471 and 61G15 F.A.C. and four hours of Areas of Practice. The license biennium is from March 1, 2007 through February 28, 2010.
